Dentsu Sports and Entertainment is collaborating with The SMC, a Korean company specializing in digital content and entertainment and celebrity chef Sam Kim, known for his appearances on popular shows including Chef & My Fridge, Culinary Class Wars and Undercover Chef, to launch a new original cooking entertainment show, The Taste of Memory, with Taiwan selected as its first overseas market. Starting with an original YouTube cooking series, the cross-border collaboration will bring together live events and brand partnerships to develop an entertainment IP spanning content creation, fan engagement and the experience economy, adding new momentum to dentsu Sports and Entertainment's strategy for innovative business models.

Dentsu Sports and Entertainment × The SMC : co-creating entertainment IP across markets and deepening the integration of culture and business

The collaboration brings together dentsu's cross-market brand resources, entertainment IP integration and commercialization capabilities, and The SMC’s strengths in digital content marketing. Starting in Taiwan, the partners aim to explore diverse models for developing entertainment IP, from content creation and fan community development to brand co-creation.

Going beyond a standalone production, The Taste of Memory is expected to premiere between late 2026 and early 2027. Centered on the theme of "flavors of memory", the series will combine Sam Kim's distinctive culinary philosophy and personality with original digital storytelling to connect Taiwanese and Korean cultures and personal stories. Dishes featured in the series will also extend into real-world experiences, fan engagement and brand collaborations.

On 23–24 January 2027, the project will present a special "Banquet & Food Market" inspired by Taiwan's traditional banquet culture and Asian culinary traditions. Sam Kim will attend in person to recreate signature dishes from the series, meet fans and bring the food and stories seen on screen to life.

This cross-border entertainment IP initiative aligns with dentsu Sports and Entertainment's strategic focus on developing entertainment offerings and innovative business models across Greater North Asia. As part of dentsu's global sports and entertainment network, the business combines international content co-creation with local cultural experiences. With Taiwan as its starting point, it will continue exploring opportunities to expand entertainment IP across markets, leveraging the integration of culture and business to unlock new growth opportunities for international brands.

Banquet & Food Market: Sam Kim brings the feast to the table, creating a new Asian food and entertainment experience

Beyond the cooking entertainment series, The Taste of Memory is planning a special event in early 2027 inspired by the spirit of togetherness at the heart of Taiwan's traditional ban-doh banquet culture. Combining a festive Taiwanese banquet with an Asian food market, the event will bring dishes from the show to real dining tables, allowing audiences to experience the flavors and stories firsthand.
